My Story
In spring of 2007 my online journey began, I purchased my first computer and dove head first into the online world.I started to experiment the social sites and opened an account with Myspace. It took me a while to set up a profile since my computer skills were not up to date, last time I had access to a computer was back in High School and that was 14 years ago lol.
I was hooked , it was a big party scene.I connected with my college buddies and friends from my child hood.Spending more than 5 hours per day on Myspace was getting to become a bit overwhelming.I learned to attract the right people and at the same time learned to improve my computer skills by pasting funny pics, banners and videos on my page. The bad part is that I had to close my account since It later turned into a spamming fest and I wasn’t having it…
I needed to keep busy…
So here I go again and create a profile on Yahoo Answers, this was my new hobby.I was again spending 3-5 hours per day answering questions and building a list of followers.Soon that I realized that most people were giving advise and having their signature pointing to a website.I said to myself sweet I can do that and make some extra money online.Boy was I wrong, I stumbled upon a website with the title “As see on TV” and had a affiliate product attached to it, so I answered questions and left my “Acne Cleaning Solution” affiliate link that when something like this www.theproductsname.com/xyz843403455 lol. I didn’t know what the heck I was doing and got banned from “yahoo answer” for promoting affiliate products .
Yikes Strike 1……..
Now what ,How can I keep myself busy and productive?
I decided I needed to learn how to build a website and promote my products and services.I had no products that I wanted to promote at the time, but I did have a service I wanted to expand within my field as a Electrician. So here I go again and used a tool within Yahoo, that lets anyone build professional websites for Online and Offline Businesses. I began to tinker with the site builder and had my first website up and running. It had all the bells and whistles ,pictures of projects I’d accomplished in previous years ,story line, etc .
Okay I have a website , but no traffic what the heck is wrong with people? I have an amazing website and my services are affordable across the board , that you would be a fool not to take me on my offer.Within the site builder there was a keyword tool that would allow the entry of keywords and view and compare rankings with other sites.. AH HA…. For the next month I learned how to optimize my site and had a well respected traffic , to the point that I didn’t know what to do with so many service calls, since I had a full time job.I was overwhelmed and used that site as a referral site and passed those projects to contractors. This was my first taste at Online Success, but I wanted more…
For the Next year or so I spend countless hours on the internet observing the online business world . I joined Most of the programs out there from having my own “99cent store, credit card business, get paid to read surveys, domain selling opportunity, traffic exchange sites, list building, blah blah blah……..
Here’s the problem I encounter with some of these programs……
Traffic Exchange programs: I came across this website that had a very convicing story and supposily a system.I was told which sites to create an account and how many sites and ads to click on per day.The capture page was supposely converting really well and all I had to do was spend 20 minutes per day and money would be falling from the sky.Not only did I spend countless hours per day clicking away , I never made a dime. When I confronted the person , she said “Maybe you’re doing something wrong”.Okay maybe she’s right, so I paid for the traffic within those traffic exchange programs and my results were an astonishing ($0.00) profit. What a bunch of balony..never doing that again.lol
I tried this other website called “hits2u” which promised to drive traffic to my sites.I build a big list of free subscribers, the problem with this is that exactly”they are looking for free stuff” Not only was this list worthless it was a waste of time because it only attracted tire kickers and not people who wanted to invest on anything online..
Strike 2… Dam it… It’s On
I dust myself off and on to the next journey. I came acrosss another free system ” boy I’m a sucker for these free systems lol” if you haven’t notice by now…
The System is Called “The SpiderWebMarketingSystem” or something like that.I spend countless hours until I got my system up and running. I had to create several accounts on different programs and social sites and that’s how I was suppose to make money when people joined my system.Long and behold I copy and paste the default profile giving to us within the system.Next morning I was pumped, I was going log in to all the social sites I just created and share this cool system that I came across. As I started to add friends I noticed something odd, there were others with the same profile as mine, same story same line the only thing different was their name. I said okay , there are hundreds of marketers on this social site, I’ll just blend in .lol I couldn’t believe my eyes there were hundreds upon hundreds with the same profile ” stating they been in Internet Marketing for 10 years” and some looked like they just turned 18 years old. That system might be great, but it wasn’t meant for me since I had No marketing skills.
Strike 3. I’m not happy and I’m not taking this anymore..
I failed with Traffic exchange programs, failed with my ” As Seen On TV ” business, failed with List building programs, Failed with Free systems , but there was some light at the end of the tunnel.
Someone stood out from the crowd and left a message on my wall that went something like this……

Hey Carlos…just thought I’d drop by and say hello! I look forward to networking some more to see how we can help each other achieve our goals. Wishing you much success!
This was back in September 25,2008. I had failed 3 times and I had nothing to loose, I had already built a thick skin and was willing to get dirty once again. For a straight month I had to deprogram myself in the way of thinking and actually absorb good honest marketing strategies. Within a month I made my first commission Online. I spent countless hours educating myself.. look here’s a picture of me below…
So there you go just before I was going to throw the towel I was able to dust myself and get back on my feet.Never give up ,if you’re not making money online at this point in time…
Calvin Coolidge once said:
“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful people with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.”
Who can disagree with that?
Many, many successful people have touted that persistence and dedication is what has led to their success. Success doesn’t come without pitfalls and when we hear about a successful entrepreneur we often don’t realize that a lot of the times their outcomes have been more negative than positive – they’ve simply been persistent and “pressed on” until they achieved their dreams.
If you’re stuck in a rut or are finding that your persistence is starting to wane a little, these tips will help you build it up once again.
# Visualize your goals – When you’re stuck it’s often difficult to see beyond your current place. But simple visualization can help you “see” into what the future may hold and keep you on the persistence track. Take a few minutes each day (preferably at the start or end of the day) and visualize where you’d like your business to be in a year or two years’ time. Be realistic but also positive in your visualization.
Imagine what your improved business will mean to your life. See yourself as a successful entrepreneur achieving your goals. Visualization techniques have worked for many entrepreneurs and can help you move forwards in your business.
# Design a vision board – A vision board is a back-up to your visualization. Many of us have difficulty imagining a situation which isn’t tangible at the moment; this is where a vision board comes in. All you need to create one is a simple pegboard and pictures of your ideal situation. These can include your dream home, perhaps something representative of being debt free, motivational quotes, pictures of your family – anything that will help you stay on track and motivated.
# One step at a time – When you drive in the dark you can only see at most two feet in front of you at anytime, but eventually you’ll end up at your destination. Just like driving in the dark, you don’t need to see much further ahead in your business. If you concentrate on the big picture too much, you may struggle and feel overwhelmed. Instead concentrate on small manageable goals that you can achieve one step at a time. Once you achieve a small goal, then go on to the next one – slowly, a few feet at a time until eventually, like the car driving in the dark, you end up at your destination.
# Attack from all angles – Persistence can slip even the most dedicated entrepreneurs at times, and to gain it back you may need a full-force attack. This means placing yourself in the very best possible position to achieve success.
# Look after your physical health. Take time out to avoid burnout. Do the things you love in order to stay positive. And appreciate what you currently have in life.
All of these things will help to put you in a state of mind that is open to success. Staying committed and persistent as an entrepreneur is not an easy feat and the healthier you are overall, the easier achieving that goal will become.
